Meet the Jury – SIPAM 2025

We are honored to welcome Mr. Roy Luxford, Creative Director of the Edinburgh International Festival, to this year’s SIPAM jury.
Since 2016, Mr. Luxford has steered the artistic vision of the Edinburgh International Festival, a 25‑day celebration of theatre, dance, music, opera, and visual arts that draws audiences and companies from around the globe.
With decades of international producing experience, he has delivered landmark theatre and dance projects for world‑renowned institutions including the Barbican, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, The Young Vic, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center New York, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Arts Festival, the Chekhov Festival in Moscow, and the Venice Biennale.
Mr. Luxford has led three of the UK’s foremost producing companies—Cheek by Jowl, Michael Clark Company, and DV8 Physical Theatre—and produced the European premiere of Tony Kushner’s Homebody/Kabul in London as well as Tim Supple’s acclaimed One Thousand and One Nights at the Edinburgh International Festival.
As professional lead of the Atelier for Young Producers at the European Festival Association’s Festival Academy, he mentors emerging cultural leaders across Europe. He is also an active member of UK Theatre, the industry body representing theatre professionals in the United Kingdom.
