Inspired by William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, this production reimagines one of the darkest tragedies as a reflection on power, manipulation, and the fragility of human values in the digital age.
The story of Macbeth’s transformation from a noble warrior into a tyrant becomes a lens through which to examine the mechanisms of contemporary evil. In this interpretation, witches and demonic forces take the form of impersonal digital systems — media, algorithms, and hybrid warfare — shaping perception and influencing human action.
Set against the backdrop of today’s global tensions, the performance explores how easily truth can be distorted, how power corrupts, and how societies can resist the rise of tyranny.
Continuing the legacy of Les Kurbas, the production approaches theatre as a space for political reflection and critical inquiry into the nature of humanity in times of crisis.
