A dynamic force in the world of interdisciplinary performance, Australian violinist/acrobat/fire artist Sonja Schebeck trained at the Sydney Conservatorium and MUK Vienna. With a focus on creating projects fusing classical music with contemporary circus and theatre, she founded 'The Freestyle Orchestra' in 2016 and since 2010 has been duo-partner, arranger and founding member of Nigel Kennedy's 'Orchestra of Life'. Collaborating closely with Australian composer Chloé Charody, their projects include 'The Carnival' circus-opera, 'Phoenix' caprice for violinist/dancer (Dutch National Ballet), 'Tale of the Firebird' Concerto for fire and orchestra (Vivid Sydney), and LIMBO Sonata for violinist and acrobat. Since 2021 Sonja has toured as with Australian circus company Gravity & Other Myths.
