Junko Hanamitsu

Junko Hanamitsu has planned and produced numerous experimental performing arts productions that transcend genres, ranging from contemporary arts such as theatre, dance, video art and contemporary music to traditional performing arts. She has been involved in many artistic exchanges with foreign countries. She organises the International Dance Network (IDN), which introduces Japanese dancers and choreographers to overseas directors, and organised a showcase and forum in Tokyo in 2014 and 2016, inviting over 30 dance professionals from different countries and providing opportunities for exchange. It also produces and runs the dance festival 'Nextream21' every May with the aim of nurturing young dancers and choreographers, and focuses on supporting young people.
