Antonia Maria Ilies, an emerging Romanian theatre director, crafts intimate theatrical experiences that blend psychological depth with cultural relevance while reimagining traditional narratives. Currently directing "Our Golden Children" (a Seagull adaptation) in Barcelona, she recently completed her third short film. Her work explores personal versus collective identity, women's experiences, subtle political themes, with a focus on documentary theatre. As co-founder and principal director of Ophelia Collective, she champions underrepresented women's narratives in film production.
